Indian Government: Visa Prices Increased up to 50% More for Indian Visas


A little while back, Indian Government increased the visa fee for India by up to 50% in various categories. This change has been done in order to justify and modify the tax charged from foreign nationals who visits India for various purposes.

However, the hike has been raised against the short – term employment visa for the countries such as Australia, the US (United States), and New Zealand.
The Government also increased the visa rates for more countries in various different such as US (United States), UK (United Kingdom), Canada, Israel, Iran, and UAE (United Arab Emirates) nationals.

According to a Government notification, “a tourist visa up to one year will now cost $153 from the earlier $100. The tourist visa for India over a year and up to five years will cost $306 instead of $120”.
In spite of that, there are exceptions such as nationals of UK (United States) earlier used pay the fee of $162 for a tourist visa up to a year and now will have to pay $248. And for a five year tourist visa, they will pay $741 instead of $484.

On the other hand, for the Employment visa for India for nationals from Canada, Ireland, France, Australia, New Zealand and Thailand will now pay $459 instead of $300 for a visa spanning over a year and up to five years.

However, in case it’s a short – term working visa, Israelis continue to cough up the most. They are now required to pay $1,714 instead of $1,120. The fee for Pakistan nationals across categories has been increased from Rs. 15 to Rs. 100.
An expert on migration studies, S. Irudayarajan says “The labor markets abroad are in a constant flux. Labor exporting countries such as India needs well thought out measures to address these challenges”.

Krishna Janmashtami 2018

1.      Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh
Along with two other places i.e. Mathura and Gokul, Vrindavan is also associated with Krishna’s childhood. The city is home to more than 400 temples dedicated to Lord Krishna, all of which are decorated beautifully during this time. 2.     Udupi, Karnataka

4.      Maharashtra
Maharashtra is another state which celebrates this festival with great enthusiasm. Amongst other rituals, Dahi – Handi is the most popular way of celebration. In Dahi Handi an earther pot filled with curd (Dahi) is hung at a height and a human pyramid is form to reach the pot and break it. The idea behind this is to celebrate the mischievous side of lord Krishna who’d steal butter or curd from the hung pots.

5.      Puri, Odisha
Speaking of Janmashtami, Jagannath Temle, in Puri is a must. It is considered to be one of the prominent places of celebrations. In the temple devotees chants Hare Krishna all night long and devotional songs are sung and verses from the Bhagvad Gita are recited. The temple is embellished beautifully with garlands and string lights and is quite a sight to watch on Janmashtami.
