Indian Government: Indian e-Visa price hike for foreign nationals


In order to rationalize and alter the tax charged from foreign nationals visiting India, the Government has increased the visa fee across categories.
The hike has been done as a measure to balance less number of foreign nationals working in the country.

Although, the Government had recently increased the fee in different categories for the US (United States), UK (United Kingdom), Canada, Israel, Iran and UAE (United Arab Emirates) nationals.

As per the sources, the fee hike, which is cyclical and for the most part corresponding, is “sweeping this time as it is being touted as an effort to rationalize the entry fee charges and modify it in sync with what most countries charge”

The new price hike is as follows:

(a)  $ 49 for the following countries:
Argentina, Cook Islands, Fiji, Indonesia, Jamaica, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Mauritius, Micronesia, Nauru, Niue Island, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Seychelles, Solomon Islands ,South Africa, Tonga, Tuvalu, Uruguay, and Vanuatu

(b) $ 70 for the following countries:
Japan, Singapore and Sri Lanka

(c)  $139 for the following countries

Also, note that a different fee structure has been formed for e-Business visa for India, which is as follows:

(a)  $70 for the following countries
Argentina, Cook Islands, Fiji, Jamaica, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Mauritius, Micronesia, Nauru, Niue Island, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Seychelles, Solomon Islands ,South Africa, Tonga, Tuvalu, Uruguay, and Vanuatu

(b) $ 199
