India Art Fair is another awaited event for art enthusiasts that catch their fancy. This fest attracts visitorsr with an interest in the arts, including curators, artists, collectors, journalists, gallerists and critics. While some visit to acquire art, others view the fair as an exhibition or enjoyable cultural outings.
When and where is India Art Fair 2019?
The 11th edition of India Art Fair will take place at NSIV Exhibition Grounds, Okhla, New Delhi, from 31st January – 3rd February 2019.
What are the opening hours?
The special preview will take place from 3-7 pm on 31st January 2019, offering collectors and visitors the opportunity to experience and acquire the finest works available before the fair opens to the public. Public entry is from 2-7 pm on 1st and 2nd February 2019 and 11am – 6 pm on 3rd February 2019.
Where can I purchase tickets for this year’s show?
Tickets are available in limited numbers of Thursday Preview Passes, which give you and a personal guest early, and unlimited access to the fair, as well as single and Three day tickets. Take advantage of the early bird offers by booking your tickets soon.
How to get there?
Govindpuri Metro Station and NSIC Okhla Metro Station, which fall on the Violet line and Magenta line respectively, are next to the entrance of the fair. The venue is also accessible by taxi, and car parks are available at Gate 3 and 4 on a first-come, first serve basis

The fair is made up of five sections: Galleries consist of Indian and International exhibitors presenting works by a range of artists; Focus features solo artist presentations; Institutions showcase leading Indian and International museums and art foundations; Platform represents young emerging artists or art practices from South Asia; and Art Projects is a space to discover large scale, interactive installations.
What are some big names participating in India Art Fair?
India Art Fair has exhibited works by leading artists from the region such as M.F Hussain, S.H Raza, F. N. Souza, Amrita Sher-Gil, Bharti Kher, Nikhil Chopra and Thukral and Tagra in its previous editions, as well as the works of celebrated international superstars like Anish Kapoor, Yayoi Kusama, Ai Weiwei and Pablo Picasso.
The fair sees a particularly strong representation of some of India’s most respected galleries which includes Jhaveri Contemporary, Chemould Prescott Road, Experimenter, vadehra Art Gallery, and Gallery Espace. Some of the top rank international galleries such as David Zwirner, Blain, Southern, Sabrina Amrani and Aicon Gallery have also participated in the fair. India’s most influential cultural organizations partnering with the fair in 2019 include the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA) and the foundation for Indian Contemporary Art (FICA)
